painted over

hiram larew

Listen to the recording here.

I’m the forget-birthdays type

The smudge that finds glasses

And what’s between oh and please

I’m the things paws dig up

Yes and spoony froth

I’m knocked over hollyhocks

Or that gaspy dunk

Or whatever gets painted over

So when I see love arm in arm

Walk by in the street below

I can’t help but

Worry crosswalks

Or curse turning corners

Or scold my eyes

For what they always do

At flirty windows
