GENERAL INFO
Accepting prose, poetry, and visual art from creators ages 12-29.
We want your pieces that dance! Your pieces that inspire, cry, sparkle! Your pieces that make us uncomfortable like a sticky-hot summer; your pieces that make us comfortable like the blanket of a starry summer sky!
Inspired by William Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream, midsummer magazine aims to publish work written by young creators that instills and explores
the emotional: whether that is humor, melancholy, wonder, anger, grief, anything else that you feel and hope and cry;
the magical: whether that is fairies, romance, the gothic, first love, anything else you can imagine;
the surreal: whether that is your form, your content, a character's name, the theme you wish to explore, anything else that means 'surreal' to you.
Please note: while we aim to publish writing and art focusing on the above themes/energies, we'd love to read anything. Also, while we aim to highlight work by younger creators, we invite anyone of any age to submit. Send it our way!
Response time: up to 3 weeks.

If you have formless work, we love that here! Your Notes-app love letters, scribbled out poems, your half-script/half-poem mutations. After all, the genreless is, perhaps, the most whimsical of all!
